Today was the big day for release.

 

Hey all , I decided to release the "Miskwaa Message in a bottle" canoe on April 3 2022 , I felt the spring run off hit it's peak and wanted to give the canoe a fighting chance to at least make it to Little Bald Lake.

I have never explored the almost 2 km of river heading south from my location , so at this point I don't know what challenges it may have to endure.

    Hello Daniel,

    Just letting you know that our dog found one of your canoes on March 30, 2025, on our shoreline on Little Bald Lake. It took me a few days to realize that it had a little bottle inside the canoe after the dog kept taking it back to chew on the wood. We were quite excited to read the note which said that the canoe was launched on March 14, 2022. So it appears to have taken just over 3 years to reach our "distant" shore. We are located at 27 Hall Crescent which is on the west end of the lake at the south end of the Big Bald Narrows - we are the house with the blue chairs (in case you ever boat by). Anyway, it took a while to get the note out as the paper got wet so I had to smash the bottle to retrieve it.

    As per your wishes and unless you tell me otherwise, I will find another bottle for your original note and relaunch the canoe in the next week or so.

    I have no problem with you sharing my identity if you desire.
